Guardian offers three monitoring plans: Standard, Essential, and Premium. As the plan goes up in price, so does the value it adds to your home. Unfortunately, Guardian isn't as transparent as other companies when it comes to pricing. This review will give you an estimate of how much each monitoring plan will cost you.
Standard
The Standard plan covers basic security and life safety monitoring and smartphone access. If you're looking to protect your home but nothing more, this is the perfect plan for you. Essential

The monitoring package only includes the base station, door/window sensors, motion sensor, yard sign, and decals. Any additional equipment will be charged to you upon signing up.

Premium
The Premium plan goes all in with video monitoring. Aside from the video doorbell, you'll be able to use the indoor and outdoor camera as well as the Stream Video Recorder. Contract
Take note that in exchange for the free basic equipment package, you're required to sign a long-term contract. Guardian's contracts can be as short as 3 years and as long as 5 years. 3-year contracts are the industry standard, but a 5-year contract is too long. If you're signing up for a Guardian security system be sure to ask for the 3-year contract option.
